An MBA graduate of the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University, Ken Goggans is the founder and former CEO of Manek Energy, Incorporated. Manek Energy specialized in oil and gas services, working more than 1,000 Marcellus wells all over West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. Under the leadership of Ken Goggans, Manek became the No. 1 Marcellus Shale completions provider. Weatherford International took notice of Manek’s growth, and in February 2010, purchased all its assets.
A year after selling Manek Energy for a significant profit, Kenneth Goggans founded Woodbine Acquisition Corporation (WAC). They successfully raised $250 million for an acquisition of oil and gas assets. A short time later, he sold WAC’s interests for an undisclosed amount.
Earlier in his career as an entrepreneur, Mr. Goggans was active in real estate and land development, and built several Walmart stores in Oklahoma. A corporate pilot, he also helped launched an aircraft manufacturing company, and flying remains one of his hobbies.
